DoorDash Inc. ( NASDAQ:DASH ) has launched a new standalone app called Tasks that pays couriers to contribute to AI and robotics training. The initiative enables Dashers to complete assignments such as recording unscripted conversations in Spanish and filming household chores such as loading a dishwasher, handwashing dishes, and folding clothes, which can be used to train delivery robots and AI systems. DoorDash is tapping its 8 million U.S. contractor network to meet demand for the kind of unique, real-world datasets companies need to train specialized AI models.
