(Photo: Qilai Shen/Bloomberg) Taiwan's New Kinpo Group has been shifting its manufacturing operations out of China for years, a move that's said to be paying off now as the world's two largest economies slap tariffs on one another. We are the only company who dares to say we benefit from the U.S.-China trade war, CEO Simon Shen told reporters in early August. The contract electronics maker is able to help well-known brands like Samsung and Toshiba avoid the tariffs by moving production to its network of factories in Southeast Asia. New Kinpo had even been planning to increase the production capacity of its Southeast Asian hub through funds raised by the initial public offering of its Philippine subsidiary Cal-Comp Technology, but those plans had to be shelved due to market conditions.
