The chain confirmed to PennLive this week that it completed a previously announced plan to close approximately 150 underperforming restaurants by the end of 2025. The plan was announced in 2024 as part of an overhaul of the company. Then in November 2025, Denny's announced it has agreed to the sale of the company worth approximately $620 million including debt. The company's board agreed to sell Denny's to private equity investment company TriArtisan Capital Advisors, investment firm Treville Capital and Yadav Enterprises, one of Denny's largest franchisees. Known for its affordable menu and focus on breakfast, Denny's continues to struggle in a shifting marketplace. After seeing sales decline through the Covid-19 pandemic, the chain is now battling changes in customer dining patterns. Customers are relying more on delivery services when dining out, which has hurt the sit-down restaurant chain. Denny's CEO Kelli Valade said the company received interest from 40 potential buyers
