Del Frisco's Restaurant Group: Looking Like A Buyout Summary As of this morning shares of Del Frisco's Restaurant Group (DFRG) were down 75% from 52 week highs. Transformation acquisition was completely botched with regards to financing the buyout of Barteca which is the catalyst for the share decline. Hedge Funds have amassed a 30% stake in DFRG and a strategic review process is underway. mid-day of a $9 per share potential buyout has sent shares soaring over 30% from $4.75 to as high as $6.50 during trading on May 20th. $9 price is logical on an EV/EBITDA valuation basis, and potentially on the low side, and a 20% concentrated short bet along with activist investors creates 40-50% more upside. I believe a buyout of DFRG ( here DFRG shares traded hands for almost $16 per share in early 2018 prior to announcing a major acquisition.
