But if you look at the logo, essentially the Star Wars font, and its icon, essentially the Rebel Alliance crest, you can see that things are…rather strange here. For the first time, we are seeing a licensed Star Wars expansion that does not actually feature 1:1 Star Wars representations. It's a Destiny story, canon to that ongoing universe, drawing heavily on Star Wars visuals, equipment, even sounds, but it is not technically a Star Wars game at all. In order not to be an unlicensed rip-off, it did need that license, and it was made in partnership with Lucasfilm, as they and Bungie decided how this was going to work. Sure, there have been some weird Star Wars games over time (man, I miss Yoda Stories) and some awesome ones (take your pick), but an “inspired” game that is officially licensed is a new venture.
