This article first appeared on GuruFocus Josh D'Amaro has officially begun his first day as CEO of Walt Disney ( NYSE:DIS ), succeeding Bob Iger after a period of uncertainty for the century-old company. Dana Walden was simultaneously elevated to President and Chief Creative Officer, a newly created role reporting directly to D'Amaro. Iger will remain as Senior Advisor and a board member until his scheduled retirement on December 31, 2026. D'Amaro's leadership follows his tenure overseeing Disney Experiences. The segment generated $36 billion in revenue in fiscal 2025 and accounted for 57% of the company's $17.6 billion full-year operating income. The market's initial reaction has been muted.
