But over the past year, when costs for everything have gone up, jobs are unstable and rumblings of a recession are louder than ever , luxury travel has been an easy-to-cut expense for those who had to stretch to afford it in previous years. In a defensive tactic against a downturn in spending and attendance, Disneyland has made two recent moves to encourage lower-spending guests to keep coming to the parks in 2026: new ticket deals, and a new value-added annual pass. "I do think [travel in 2026] will be different," Chris Hassan, social media and brand manager for travel deal site Upgraded Points , told SFGATE by phone. "Families are still going to be traveling, but they're going to be just more selective." Disney hasn't seen that selectivity affect its earnings just yet.
