Andrews held a campaign event in Greenville on March 30, drawing a crowd of more than 200 people to the Horizon Records store on Stone Avenue. The event was originally slated to take place indoors, but it was moved outside to accommodate the crowd. The Charleston pediatrician is one of three Democrats running in the U.S. Senate race. She, like many of the candidates in the Senate race, is running to unseat longtime Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina. Graham has served in the South Carolina Senate since 2003, and he filed on March 16 to appear on the Republican primary ballot. He has recently faced backlash for his calls for the war in Iran and for visiting Disney World during the partial government shutdown. Graham responded to the criticism by saying he was in Florida for a meeting about relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.
