Summary The novel coronavirus pandemic and subsequent selloff of SMSI with the broader market offers investors a unique, second opportunity to enter a fast-growing company at a discounted price. Smith Micro’s acquisition of Circle Media Labs’ mobile operator business significantly de-risked the company’s stock by drastically increasing the odds of Smith winning the New T-Mobile business. In addition to New T-Mobile, Smith Micro is clearly adding devices and could be adding additional carriers to its customer stable in 2020. Using my most conservative estimate, which includes a drastic slowdown due to the Covid-19 slowdown, Smith shares are discounted by more than 50%. Using a more likely, yet still conservative base-case scenario, shares could easily rise 100% from their current value.
