It is a form of speculation that is increasingly overlapping with the worlds of gambling and stock trading, with both DraftKings and FanDuel in on the action, and Robinhood saying it's the fastest-growing part of its revenue. But how to pay taxes on gains and losses from predictions contracts remains open to interpretation, and there is currently no IRS guidance.
