Dow saw its share prices jump by 9.34 percent on Thursday to close at $37.58 apiece, after Citigroup turned bullish for its stock, raising its rating and price target by 43 percent. In a market report on the same day, Citigroup issued a new price target of $40 for Dow Inc. (NYSE:DOW), markedly higher than the $28 previously, while recommending investors now to “buy” instead of staying “neutral” prior. The coverage reflected its expectations that the company would benefit from the ongoing tensions in the Middle East amid supply disruptions and higher oil prices that could boost margins for North American chemical producers with access to low-cost natural gas feedstocks.
