The payment will take the dividend yield to 3.5%, which is in line with the average for the industry. Before this announcement, Deutsche Telekom was paying out 94% of earnings, but a comparatively small 20% of free cash flows. This leaves plenty of cash for reinvestment into the business. Over the next year, EPS is forecast to expand by 165.9%. Under the assumption that the dividend will continue along recent trends, we think the payout ratio could be 36% which would be quite comfortable going to take the dividend forward.
