Late Tuesday, Dexcom crushed first-quarter expectations with adjusted profit of 44 cents per share and $405.1 million in sales. It was also Dexcom's biggest period of new patient additions despite uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic . Telemedicine is already gaining traction in health care. The viral outbreak helped that trend, Sayer told Investor's Business Daily. Dexcom sells body-worn continuous glucose monitors, a key tool in managing diabetes. Prior to the Covid-19 outbreak, this was a popular tool for parents of children with diabetes. It allows parents to keep track of their children's glucose levels while at school.
