Related news Dexcom ( DXCM ) beat Wall Street's first-quarter expectations late Tuesday but pulled its 2020 outlook due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, DXCM stock surged in after-hours action. For the first quarter ended March 31, Dexcom earned 44 cents per share, minus certain items, on $405.1 million in sales. Dexcom earnings turned around from a 5-cent loss in the year-ago period. Sales grew 44% year over year. Both measures handily topped the average forecast of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research for Dexcom earnings of 10 cents per share on $357 million in sales. Dexcom sells continuous glucose monitors for use in diabetes treatment. However, the company pulled its outlook for 2020 on uncertainty related to the coronavirus pandemic .
