Newsom will visit Berkeley and Clarendon counties on Feb. 23 as part of the South Carolina Democratic Party's "On the Road Again with Gavin Newsom" series. This marks the second time the California governor has visited South Carolina in the past year. According to party officials, Newsom will meet with South Carolina Democrats for conversations on leadership, public service and his work in business and politics. He will later go to Rock Hill for an event featuring his memoir, "Young Man in a Hurry: A Memoir of Discovery," which is about his childhood, career and ambitions as a politician. Newsom was most recently in South Carolina in July when he stopped in eight counties to talk about federal policies under President Donald Trump's second term in office, including tariffs. He also talked about building support for the Democratic Party in rural communities ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
