And no matter how this plays out in the courtroom, the outcome will shine an ugly light on the league.The Los Angeles Timesreportedthis week that two fans are suing MLB, each of the 30 teams in the league and four third-party ticket companies – the league’s official resale partner StubHub, Ticketmaster, Live Nation and Last Minute Transactions – for their refusal to refund money for purchased tickets for games that are not being played because of the coronavirus pandemic. MLB has not played any games this season, which was supposed to start on March 26.The lawsuit is also seeking class-action status to enable other fans to join.
