The S&P 500 ( ^GSPC ) added 0.6%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite ( ^IXIC ) picked up 0.8%. But while the pressure is easing, investors are still weighing the long-term impact of AI on business models and corporate competition, and whether AI investments will pay off. Meanwhile, minutes of the Fed's January meeting showed some policymakers leaning toward holding rates steady, though others suggested rate cuts could be in store if inflation comes down. The minutes said "several participants commented that further downward adjustments to the target range for the federal funds rate would likely be appropriate if inflation were to decline in line with their expectations."
