Le président des États-Unis, Donald Trump, a annoncé vendredi qu’il proposera la candidature de Kevin Warsh au poste de prochain président de la Réserve fédérale (Fed). Ce choix est susceptible d’entraîner des changements radicaux au sein de cette puissante institution, qui pourrait se rapprocher de la Maison-Blanche et voir son indépendance vis-à-vis de la politique quotidienne être réduite. Si sa nomination est confirmée par le Sénat, Kevin Warsh, qui est âgé de 55 ans, succédera à l’actuel président de la Fed, Jerome Powell, à la fin de son mandat, en mai.
