Traditionally Q4 has always been the weakest quarter for EMN, and current consensus expectations too are lower than what management had previously guided to. The Chemical Intermediaries business is likely to fare worse than what was initially expected, while the Fibers division, which normally holds up well in Q4 will also face pressure. Cost reduction initiatives and working capital improvements will likely serve as silver linings.
