Chairwoman Nicole Boyd of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa delivered the 22nd annual address, which brought together leaders from Wisconsin's 11 federally recognized tribes and state lawmakers at the Wisconsin State Capitol. The yearly event highlights successes and key issues in Native communities as well as a forum to strengthen government-to-government relationships. Boyd's address reflected on the positive impact tribes have on the economy, and set the course for milestones to hit in the future. At the end of the address, she noted Gov. Tony Evers, who will leave office after eight years next January, has a strong legacy of collaborating with tribes.
