The company's stock was up 9.6% to $18 in after-hours trading on Wednesday. Shares have risen about 7% since the start of the year. Chord's shares were up about 4.8% in late trading. Advertisement The companies said that Enerplus shareholders would receive about one-tenth of a share of Chord and $1.84 in cash for each Enerplus share. The companies said the exchange gave Calgary-based Enerplus an implied value of $18.42 per share. Enerplus shareholders will hold about one-third of the combined company, with the remainder held by Chord shareholders. The about $11 billion in expected enterprise value is based on the closing prices of both companies' shares Feb. 20 and includes Enerplus's net debt. The merger is expected to close in mid-2024.
