That translated into a substantial decline in the calculated net worth of Erie's Thomas B. Hagen , a preservationist and philanthropist who is chairman of the company. According to the newly released Forbes list of billionaires , Hagen's net worth fell from $8.2 billion to $5.3 billion, moving his ranking from the 219th wealthiest person in the world to 806th on that list. The annual list is calculated by using stock prices and other values as of March 1 of 2026. Over the past 52 weeks, the daily closing prices of Erie Indemnity stock has ranged from a high of $434 to a low of about $237. At one point on the morning of March 13, the price was about $244. In its annual earnings report, announced Feb. 23, Erie Indemnity said net income for 2025 was $559.3 million, down from $600.3 million in 2024.
