Equity CEFs: Eaton Vance Option Funds' Fall From Grace Summary Eaton Vance probably has the most widely owned equity CEFs among investors due to their size, high yields and general popularity. Indeed, these funds have been so popular that Eaton Vance recently converted a municipal bond hybrid fund to an equity only option-income fund. However, distribution cuts at the beginning of the year for two of their largest and most popular funds has put the funds on the defensive. The question is, is it time to buy these funds now that they have dropped from premium valuations to mid single digit discounts or is their run over?
