Our pessimism is attributed to the declining top-line performance and the delayed path to adj. EBITDA profitability, with it uncertain when a reversal may occur. This is especially since its direct competitor, EVGO, is consistently reporting double-digit growth while raising their FY2025 guidance, thanks to the fast-charging capabilities. While the Eaton partnership may deliver ultra-fast charging capabilities and drive its renewed growth prospects, CHPT also presents a potential value trap at current discounted levels. Combined with the elevated short interest ratio and the mixed investment thesis, I prefer to miss the first leg up and wait for a clearer growth tailwind to emerge.
