Analyst Julian Emanuel wrote that “upside [is] delayed, not derailed,” despite geopolitical shocks and anxiety around AI-driven disruption. Evercore ISI raised its S&P 500 2026 EPS forecast to $304 from $296, citing “elevated EPS beats” and a “solid economy” underpinning earnings growth. Emanuel said 4Q 2025 results reinforced this strength, noting that S&P 500 EPS growth of 13 percent year over year “beat consensus by 6%pt,” far above the pre-pandemic average of 3 percent. Despite the volatility, Evercore ISI argued that “few systemic risks” are present and that a “market hedged for Conflict suggests upside delayed, not derailed.” A key focus is the 6,520 level, which Evercore ISI identifies as likely to hold during any pullback.
