Customers pay a reduced delivery charge on their ComEd bill when they adjust their electricity usage away from peak-usage periods CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ComEd has introduced a new option for residential customers designed to help them better manage energy use and lower costs. ComEd’s Delivery Time-of-Day (DTOD) pricing rate enables households to reduce expenses by shifting their energy consumption to periods when electricity rates are lower and demand is reduced. Additionally, this program provides electric vehicle (EV) owners with the potential to earn bill credits.DTOD, developed in accordance with the Illinois Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), introduces a rate structure where electricity delivery charges change based on the time of day power is used. In contrast, standard electric rates charge customers the same price per kilowatt-hour at any time. Additionally, DTOD customers who enroll their EVs can receive bill credits of $2 per vehicle each month for up to 24 months
