risk of a wreck, according to a notice on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website "The sun visor or headliner wiring harnesses may be improperly positioned or have excessive tape thickness, which can result in damaged wires," the notice said. "Damaged wires can create an electrical short and cause a fire in the A-pillar area, increasing the risk of injury or a crash." Ford said the company has not received reports of crashes or injuries related to the recall, but there have been three warranty claims, two field reports and one customer service report in the U.S. that may be connected to this issue.
