The 2027 Volkswagen Atlas midsize SUV is seeing its biggest change so far. The Atlas has three rows of seats and can carry six or seven passengers, depending on whether the middle row holds a pair of captain's seats or a bench. Striking new lights — inside and out — add to the visual appeal of a luxurious new interior and entirely new exterior. VW will announce prices closer to when sales begin, VW product manager James Burch told me in an advance briefing before the SUV's debut. The 2026 Atlas starts at $39,310, excluding destination charge. VW builds the Atlas in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 2027 VW Atlas: New look, more power Every inch of the Atlas' body is new, including twin LED lines across the grille that emphasize its width and height.
