Related news Facebook ( FB ) reports first-quarter earnings Wednesday, and the social media giant is expected to provide an inside look at how the digital advertising market is faring in the coronavirus environment. Facebook stock fell the last time it commented on ad spending. Several Wall Street equity analysts have cut earnings and revenue estimates on Facebook and Twitter ( TWTR ) as the outlook on digital advertising has become less clear. Both Facebook and Twitter get about 98% of revenue from advertisers. Advertising often ends up as one of the first expenses cut in times of crisis. Analysts see Facebook's adjusted earnings more than doubling to $1.75 a share from the year-ago period, and a 16% rise in revenue to $17.4 billion.
