rose Monday as economies across the globe, including the United States, moved tentatively toward reopening and investors prepped for earnings reports from many American heavyweights.The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 278 points, or 1.17%, to 24.053, the S&P 500 gained 1.24% and the Nasdaq rose 1.3%. were higher despite another tumble for crude oil prices on Monday. West Texas Intermediate crude oil for June delivery dropped more than 27% to below $12.31 a barrel as crude inventories have risen as the coronavirus pandemic has led to an evaporation of demand.Asian stocks traded higher after the Bank of Japan boosted stimulus measures by pledging to buy more bonds. Central banks in the U.S. and Europe will meet this week.The Federal Reserve will gather Tuesday and Wednesday and with interest rates near zero it's unlikely the U.S. central bank will take any policy actions.
