Foot Locker Inc. will furlough most store employees in the U.S. and Canada beginning April 26, the athletic retailer said in a filing. Some supply chain employees in the U.S. and store employees in Australia will also be furloughed. The company said it will pay wages and salaries as applicable until the furlough begins. Foot Locker has 50,999 employees, according to FactSet. The company has also reduced Chief Executive Richard Johnson's salary by 40%, cut executive vice president and senior vice president salaries by 20%, and corporate vice president and general manager pay by 10%. Foot Locker stock is up 1.5% in Thursday trading, but down 63.6% over the last year. The S&P 500 index is down 3.2% over the past 12 months.
