EAST PALO ALTO, Calif., April 08, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Finjan Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: FNJN), a cybersecurity company, and its subsidiary Finjan, Inc. (Finjan) announce that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) issued a Final Written Decision finding Finjan’s U.S. Patent No. 6,154,844 (the ‘844 Patent) patentable over prior art. The present IPR was petitioned by Juniper Networks and was the 9th unsuccessful challenge overall to Finjan’s ‘844 Patent. The ‘844 Patent has survived numerous challenges by multiple accused infringers in inter partes review proceedings before the PTAB, Reexamination at the USPTO, various District Courts, and appeals to the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Here, in Juniper Networks, Inc. v. Finjan, Inc., No. IPR2019-00026, Paper 46, dated April 7, 2020, the PTAB’s Final Written Decision concluded that Juniper failed to show that Claims 1, 15, and 41 of the ‘844 Patent are unpatentable over cited
