Related news Comcast ( CMCSA ) on Saturday outbid 21st Century Fox ( FOX ) and Walt Disney ( DIS ) for British broadcaster Sky in a showdown auction, upping its bid 15% to $39 billion from $34 billion. Amid the costly victory for Sky, Comcast stock fell sharply before Monday's open. Comcast stock tumbled more than 6% at one point in premarket trading on the stock market today , but those losses were pared to 3.3% to 36.65 as the open neared. Walt Disney stock rose 0.8% to 111.30. Comcast won the Sky battle during three rounds of bidding on Saturday in a sealed-bid auction. As a result, it gets stands to get 61% of Sky's publicly-traded shares. Sky's shareholders will vote on the deal within two weeks. Fox already owns a 39% stake in Sky. Fox and Disney, which is about to buy the bulk of 21st Century Fox's entertainment assets, for now would remain minority shareholders. There's speculation Disney and Comcast could negotiate over Hulu's ownership. Both own stakes in the video streamer
