Twenty-four arrivals and 16 departures from Brussels have been cancelled on Wednesday after drone sightings forced the airport to halt operations twice on Tuesday evening, news agency Belga reported. Lando Hass/dpa German airport operator Fraport expects fewer passengers at its Frankfurt hub this year than previously anticipated, the company said on Tuesday in its quarterly report. The operator of Germany's biggest airport now forecasts around 63 million passengers, down from an earlier estimate of up to 64 million. This means the pre-pandemic record of nearly 70.6 million passengers in 2019 is still far out of reach. Fraport blamed high government fees and taxes in Germany, which increase the cost of flying. By contrast, Fraport's airports outside Germany are seeing significantly stronger growth.
