In a debt-driven system, deflation is simply too destabilizing to allow it to persist for any measured amount of time. Liquidity finds its way into anything capable of absorbing it, including durable businesses, financial assets, real estate, or anything with a credible narrative. Growth has been uneven with pressure mounting beneath the surface, as affordability remains a real constraint for most households.
