MARKET OUTLOOK: We believe we will continue to see further volatility in capital markets. We think the uncertainty will continue to flourish. Tariffs, though reduced, remain in place and we are now seeing their impact on prices. They will likely slow growth or cut profits in the next several quarters. If this uncertainty lingers, business investment will remain on hold, further slowing the economy. The U.S. Federal Reserve is in a much more difficult situation and looks to be on hold until it has some clarity regarding the economy, job growth or lack of it. One fear is we go into stagflation (slower growth and higher inflation) and the U.S. Federal Reserve has little room to maneuver. I think market pullbacks are healthy and we need to see a 10 per cent pullback that will readjust valuations and allow for more upside.
