Gap stock jumps, UBS sees earnings inflection and a 52% upside [Yahoo! Finance]

Shares of the company has jumped more than 4% at $27.75 in premarket trading. The brokerage raised its price target by $15 to $41, which implies about 52% upside, driven by expectations of higher earnings estimates and an expansion in the stock's valuation multiple. UBS said it expects Gap's sales and profit growth to improve over the next 12 months as new initiatives begin to contribute and performance at Athleta stabilizes. The firm forecasts FY26 revenue growth of 4.4%, up from an estimated 1.9% in FY25, and FY26 earnings growth of about 14% following a slight decline in FY25. Investments to expand Gap's beauty and handbag businesses should start to lift revenue and margins, with UBS arguing the market is underestimating the size of the opportunity. Athleta's sales growth rate is expected to improve under its new management team, applying the same operating playbook used across the rest of the group. UBS said it has growing confidence in the core Old Navy and Gap brand
