Bitcoin continued to rebound above $8,000 as the Financial Stability Board warned the Group of 20 nations against further cryptocurrency regulation in the short term. However FSB chair and Bank Of England Gov. Mark Carney did not give the fledgling asset class a ringing endorsement in a letter submitted to the economic council of the world's wealthiest nations, saying wider use would cause the body to take a different stance on the subject. "The FSB's initial assessment is that crypto-assets do not pose risks to global financial stability at this time," the letter from FSB chair and Bank of England Governor Mark Carney states. "The market continues to evolve rapidly, however, and this initial assessment could change if crypto-assets were to become significantly more widely used or interconnected with the core of the regulated financial system."
