Northrop stock and General Dynamics stock fell modestly. Estimates: Analysts saw Northrop earnings climbing 7% to $5.42 per share with revenue up 3.5% to $8.47 billion. Results: Northrop earnings came in at $5.15 a share with revenue climbing 5% to $8.6 billion. Northrop's top programs include work as a subcontractor on Lockheed Martin's ( LMT ) F-35 and as the prime contractor on the B-21 next-generation stealth bomber. The Air Force plans to buy at least 100 B-21s, with total procurement costs estimated at about $100 billion. Northrop is also the sole bidder for the Air Force's Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) contract after Boeing ( BA ) dropped out.
