Trump said last week that the U.S. would decertify Bombardier Global Express business jets and threatened 50% import tariffs on all aircraft made in Canada until the country's regulator certified a number of planes produced by U.S. rival Gulfstream. While the U.S. FAA is not expected to strip Canadian planes in operation of their regulatory approval, questions remain over whether Trump would follow through with a threat to slap 50% tariffs on jets made north of the border. Aerospace has generally been less impacted than other sectors from Trump's U.S.-led trade war with planes and parts from Europe and Canada generally crossing borders without duties.
