Related news General Electric ( GE ) posted bigger-than-expected drops in earnings and revenue for the first quarter, as the coronavirus hit to global commercial air travel stung key businesses. GE stock fell as cash burn was also slightly worse than the industrial giant forecast. The restructuring conglomerate saw total revenue slide 8% to $20.524 billion. GE earnings crumbled 62% to 5 cents a share. Analysts expected GE earnings per share of 6 cents on revenue of $20.7 billion, according to Zacks Investment Research. Profits in General Electric's core aviation unit sank 39% to $1.005 billion, as revenue fell 13% to $6.892 billion. GE Capital, which includes an aircraft leasing unit, swung to a $194 million loss from a profit of $171 million a year ago, as revenue dropped 14%. Revenue also fell 13% in the power unit, jumped 26% in renewable energy and rose 1% in health care.
