GE Vernova and Seatrium win North Sea wind power connection contract [Yahoo! Finance]

This project, which forms part of TenneT's 2GW programme, aims to transmit electricity from offshore wind farms in the German North Sea to Germany's onshore transmission network. This contract is the fourth awarded to the GE Vernova-Seatrium consortium under the five-year framework cooperation agreement with TenneT, which was announced in March 2023. When commissioned, BalWin5 is projected to supply enough renewable electricity to power about 2.75 million households. These new generation offshore grid connection systems will advance Germany's long-term objectives for energy security and decarbonisation, according to GE Vernova's press release. Under the contract, GE Vernova's electrification systems business will supply both onshore and offshore converter stations, as well as HV DC technology.
