Additionally, later on December 22, GE Vernova announced that its Electrification Systems business received a major contract from Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. to provide high-voltage direct current/HVDC technology for the Khavda–South Olpad transmission corridor in India. This project is designed to evacuate renewable power from the Khavda renewable energy zone in Gujarat's Kutch region to South Olpad, a critical injection point for the national grid. The project features a 2.5-gigawatt (2,500 MW) capacity, making it the highest-rated voltage-sourced converter/VSC-based HVDC system ever planned in India.
