The Detroit automaker removed the GM logo from the building in January after moving into its new global headquarters at the site of the former Hudson's building. For the past few months, the Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC brands were displayed atop the RenCen. GM still owns the building that has largely emptied of occupants since the automaker moved out. The Marriott hotel is the largest remaining tenant. General Motors has replaced its vehicle brands with the Mariott logo atop of the Renaissance Center on Detroit's riverwalk. “As part of our move into our new headquarters at Hudson's Detroit earlier this year, we updated the exterior signage at the Renaissance Center, with the Detroit Marriott now being the featured logo on the building,” GM spokesman Kevin Kelly said April 6 in an emailed statement. “Even with this change, General Motors' commitment to Detroit and to the city's riverfront and downtown remains as strong as ever.” More: 8 cars GM wanted to destroy are the
