More than 43,000 are being recalled by General Motors, according to a notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recall for the three General Motors brands is due to a fault in the cars' transmission control valve, which the notice says “may fail and lock up the rear wheels,” increasing the risk of a crash. Owners of impacted vehicles are expected to receive notification letters on March 30, according to the notice. Impacted cars will get new transmission control module software installed free of charge. Here is what you need to know.
