Capital A Brand Management Unit To List In U.S. Via $1.15 Billion SPAC [Forbes]

Capital A , the holding company for Malaysian tycoons Tony Fernandes and Kamarudin Meranun 's AirAsia , said in an announcement Wednesday that it has finalized a $1.15 billion deal to list its brand management unit, Capital A International (CAPI), on the Nasdaq through a merger with a SPAC, Aetherium Acquisition. “This listing grants us access to the world's most extensive and liquid capital markets, enhancing the company's international credibility and presence while creating value for our shareholders," Fernandes, CEO of Capital A said in a statement. The deal was first announced last November and Fernandes reportedly plans the listing for June or July. Fernandes will lead the newly formed company after the listing, which will manage the expansion, licensing, and promotion of the AirAsia brand globally and also other ASEAN brands.
