GoPro stock soars after earnings; Oppenheimer says 'things are getting better' Shares of GoPro Inc. GPRO, +6.96% are up 6.3% in Friday morning trading after the action-camera company posted earnings results that beat expectations. The company said it was beginning to see traction with its lower-priced camera. "On the last call, management indicated it better understood customer demand: it reset prices appropriately and rid the channel of the Session," Oppenheimer analyst Andrew Uerkwitz wrote. "After one quarter, things are getting better." He pointed to improvements in operating expenditures and inventory levels. "This should help with the boom and bust sales quarters and allow investors to get more comfortable with revenue/margin growth direction," he wrote. Uerkwitz rates the stock at market perform. Shares are down 35% over the past 12 months, while the S&P 500 SPX, +0.96% has gained 10%.
