Reports say that the corporation is in talks to buy Globalstar, a satellite operator, for about $9 billion. If it happens, it would offer Amazon a bigger share of the quickly rising market for low-earth-orbit satellites, which are being utilized more and more to provide internet and connectivity services around the world. Globalstar already runs a network that lets people talk, send data, and follow things in many different fields. This could work well with Amazon's Project Kuiper, which aims to build its own satellites. Amazon only has approximately 180 satellites in orbit right now. That's a long way behind Starlink, which has a network of more than 9,500 satellites and serves millions of people around the world. There is also a problem. Apple owns about 20% of Globalstar, so any merger may involve more than just Amazon and the satellite provider.
