The move from the Memphis company comes in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling that President Donald Trump did not have the authority to impose the emergency tariffs without Congressional approval. The court on Feb. 20 struck down the tariffs, which are the centerpiece of Trump's economic policy and a major foreign policy tool, but which have also raised costs for consumers and businesses. It's the first major ruling against Trump's controversial expansive view of presidential power Trade attorneys expect a flood of lawsuits seeking to recover billions of dollars after the blockbuster ruling. The recovery process still has to be worked out by a lower court, though, complicating the matter. It is estimated that more than $175 billion in U.S. tariff collections are eligible for refunds.
