SOUTH BEND — Notre Dame football, fresh off a convincing home win over USC, moved up two spots in the US LBM Coaches poll when it was released Sunday afternoon. The Irish, now ranked 13 th by the coaches, are 5-2 heading into their final off week of the regular season. A trip to Boston College is up next on Nov. 1. Notre Dame remains the highest-ranked of the seven two-loss teams in the coaches' poll. Southeastern Conference combatants Tennessee, Texas and LSU are clustered at Nos. 17-19. After nine ranked teams lost in Week 8, including five of the top 11, Notre Dame was blocked somewhat in its steady ascent since starting 0-2.
